US Open tennis Kids Day

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) will feature several Kids Tennis initiatives at the US Open tennis 2010 . Kids Tennis programming will be prominently featured on Arthur Ashe Kids Day that will be presented by Hess and will also have a presence in the SmashZone, which is located in the Indoor Tennis Center.

The SmashZone is an interactive attraction for fans of tennis and will highlight the Kids Tennis programs with a number of 36′ tennis courts for kids, plus parents we be able to use the courts as well. This year, the USTA will be the ‘Get Sized Right’ racquet display and new information designed to teach parents what is involved in Kids Tennis. Tracy Austin, a 2-time US Open tennis champion, will be conducting a QuickStart Tennis clinic in the SmashZone on August 31st, Family Day. Mary Joe Fernandez, the U.S. Fed Cup Captain and spokesperson for the EveryoneBreathe.com website, will conduct a similar clinic.

Arthur Ashe Kids Day will be providing families a wonderful opportunity to experience and view the QuickStart Tennis play format. Two of the outer courts will be totally dedicated to the QuickStart Tennis, and the QuickStart Tennis demonstration will be featured in the Stadiums Pre-Show with the players from the local New Jersey Tennis League chapters.

All Kids Tennis activities will be happening while the real US Open tennis scores are being volleyed-up on the hard courts of the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Excitement will be had for all.
