One of the best ways to really get in with the locals of a town, city or country is to find the festivals that may be going on while you are visiting. When it comes to countries and certain cities, there are many travelers who plan to visit areas because of the festivals. Like the big carnival in Rio de Janeiro or the Mardi Gras Bash in New Orleans. In Miami, there is at least one festival going on every weekend of the year. Very often you will find a couple of celebrations happening. That makes sense with so many cultures of people who live there, there is bound to be lots of great things to do.

June in Miami brings the Cultural Fridays which is a free monthly festival that features many artists and musicians of all kinds. There are plenty of beautiful galleries and cultural centers, food and live music. The Tower Theatre has exhibits and Little Havana has free walking tours. To find this festival head over to S.W. 8th Street between 14th Avenue and 17th Avenue in the Little Havana area.

July is exploding with great festivals and entertaining events. There are four designated places to see the fireworks shows with a hot dog and root beer in Miami this summer 2010. The Barnacle Society is hosting a good old school picnic at the 19th century home. there will be some fun activities for the kids during the day with kite making and lawn games. That goes from 11 to 3 pm.  The fireworks action is happening at the Bayfront park or Miami Beach. Immerse yourself for a few hours into patriotic bliss with food drinks and fireworks.

After the fireworks are over July is also hosting the Red Bull Flugtag Show, the Mango Festival, an Afro Cuban Dance Festival and a Swim show. Talk with one of the four star hotels miami has and see what is happening while you are visiting.
