One of the best ways to really get in with the locals of a town, city or country is to find the festivals that may be going on while you are visiting. When it comes to countries and certain cities, there are many travelers who plan to visit areas because of the festivals. Like the big carnival in Rio de Janeiro or the Mardi Gras Bash in New Orleans. In Miami, there is at least one festival going on every weekend of the year. Very often you will find a couple of celebrations happening. That makes sense with so many cultures of people who live there, there is bound to be lots of great things to do.

June in Miami brings the Cultural Fridays which is a free monthly festival that features many artists and musicians of all kinds. There are plenty of beautiful galleries and cultural centers, food and live music. The Tower Theatre has exhibits and Little Havana has free walking tours. To find this festival head over to S.W. 8th Street between 14th Avenue and 17th Avenue in the Little Havana area.

July is exploding with great festivals and entertaining events. There are four designated places to see the fireworks shows with a hot dog and root beer in Miami this summer 2010. The Barnacle Society is hosting a good old school picnic at the 19th century home. there will be some fun activities for the kids during the day with kite making and lawn games. That goes from 11 to 3 pm.  The fireworks action is happening at the Bayfront park or Miami Beach. Immerse yourself for a few hours into patriotic bliss with food drinks and fireworks.

After the fireworks are over July is also hosting the Red Bull Flugtag Show, the Mango Festival, an Afro Cuban Dance Festival and a Swim show. Talk with one of the four star hotels miami has and see what is happening while you are visiting.

National Museum of Crime & Punishment in Washington

Have you ever planned the perfect crime or considered what it might be like to get away with murder? Judging by the high number of investigative crime shows on television, or the many detective and mystery books published each year, there appear to be many people who do at least think about the topic. What better place for them to visit then, than the National Museum of Crime & Punishment in Washington D.C.? Three stories and 25,000 square feet are packed with over a hundred interactive exhibits involving criminal activity and how the society punishes the criminal when they’re caught — that is, if they’re caught.

Five permanent exhibits show guests “A Notorious History of Crime,” “Punishment: The Consequence of Crime,” and “Crime Fighting,” and, in a nod to television and current crime-fighting techniques, the “CSI Experience,” and “America’s Most Wanted Studio.”

The notorious history takes visitors back to the days of medieval knights and pirates, then to the present by discussing the featured characters in the history of American crime. In this section, guests will be able to test their shooting skills in the Wild West, crack a safe open, and even attempt to hack into a computer. In the punishment section, there’s a full-scale model of a police station, complete with booking station, police line-up, a lie-detector test and a replica of a jail cell. There’s also an electric chair and a lethal injection machine (non-functioning). In the Crime Fighting section, the equipment of crime fighters is explored, but guests will also be offered the chance to take part in a high speed police chase through the use of simulators. There’s also an FBI shooting range.

In exhibits that bridge the gap betwen television and reality, the CSI Experience lets guests try their hand at forensic science techniques, such as fingerprinting, ballistics and DNA testing. In addition, there’s information about cold cases and crimes in the media. Finally, there’s the America’s Most Wanted Studio, the actual set used by host John Walsh to help fight crime. His program has helped capture more than a thousand fugitives.

The museum is located at 575 7th Street, NW, situated near some of the best hotels in Washington . For anyone with an interest in crime, it’s a prime destination; however, be on your guard. As with any museum whose subject is crime and punishment, it has a few regulations of its own. As in most museums, cell phones may be carried in the museum, but on silent mode; camera may be carried, but flash photography is prohibited, and no food or beverages are allowed, nor any pets, except trained service animals to accompany those guests with disabilities; but, also, there’s no chewing gum allowed; if you have any gum, be sure to be discreet, because you wouldn’t want to be caught with it in a museum of crime and punishment.

Repairing your motorcycles can be costly if you don’t know how to do it. If you just want to know how the repair is done so that you don’t get screwed out of your money learning can be hard, and hard to find. Schools that teach people how to repair motorcycles usually also go through teaching them how to repair cars. While for some people that is right up their alley, many people don’t want to spend the $25,000 to get loaded down with auto repair manuals. There are thankfully websites and videos out there that will teach people how to repair their own motorcycle. Finding these things is not the hard part, but rather getting up and doing it.

The truth is that the best way to find out if you are any good at motorcycle repair, or if you want to continue to do it is to just start working on it. There are a number of people who have found this out by getting out there and finding an old motorcycles, maybe one that doesn’t work anymore, and repairing it back to working condition. This is a lot easier than it was fifty years ago. Find out what the problem is with it, and Google it. Chances are that someone has had that problem before, or that a mechanic has seen the problem before and has made a video that tells you how to fix it. There are a number of professionals out there who are giving out free advice. This also helps those people who want to make sure they aren’t being ripped off and just want to know how to fix it. They may not actually want to be the one to fix it, but watching a video of someone who knows what to do can be useful and tell them if their mechanic actually knows what they are talking about or not. If you do find out that you want to repair your own motorcycles then you can either decide to go to school for it, or just keep learning online with a bunch of motorcycle manuals .

Original Theatre in Manhattan

There is never enough that can be said about the beautiful city of New York, New York. It is home to some of the best museums, historical landmarks, shopping opportunities and of course theatre in the country. In fact, it represents some of the best of everything that can be found across the world. It is the largest city in the country and it is also the nation’s most internationally known and attractive. More people visit this city every year than almost any other and everyone has there own reason for choosing to stay in one of Manhattans best hotels .

Without question one of the most popular things to do when visiting New York is to tour the city and enjoy the amazing sight seeing options. From famous studios to world class museums and the Broadway strip, New York is nothing if it is not symbolic of the American dream. It is also extremely common for most visitors to attend at least one Broadway or Off Broadway production as well as any one of the numerous other performances that occur throughout the city during all seasons and in any weather.

Some of the more obscure or lesser known companies produce some of the most incredible original and cutting edge plays and are extremely popular with the city’s residents. They are also attractive to tourists though they frequently come as a surprise find while they are in the city. The Abingdon Theatre Company is a great example of city theatre. It is devoted to supporting and giving exposure to the work of playwrights and it produces some of the best shows in town. It was originally established in 1993 and since that time it has been producing new works by American playwrights and does so exclusively. It has an established development structure and continually assists with the production ready process for new works.

Dallas Deep Ellum Coffee Blues

Dallas is a city with funk, a city with class, and a city with energy and style. It’s a fantastic place to visit, and any excuse to get to town is rewarded with new adventures in a place that’s famous for hospitality. For a great five star hotel, Dallas has plenty to offer, to make the nights gentle and lovely, and for the rest of the time, it’s an open field.

Those who visit here every once in awhile might notice that the neighborhoods are changing very quickly. Regular visitors, however, and locals especially, can see the gradual shifts, and see there are new energies at work in the city. There was a boom of activity in art and local culture in the 90s, and it lasted for a very long time. It was hard not to visit and get sucked into eclectic events that were happening all over the city, and one of the biggest centers of funkiness was Deep Ellum.

Some of the cooler clubs and galleries folded, and it doesn’t look like it did in the 90s, but it’s also different than it was a couple years ago. This is enough to suggest that it’s climbing out of a decline, and there is a sense of fun in the air once again. If there’s any doubt, guests are advised to take it up with the clients at the Murray Street Coffee Shop . The indie coffee house has been in a unique position to witness the changes, and throughout the years they’ve never failed to attract a diverse clientele.

If there are funky artists in town, they’ve been here, and there’s no telling who one might meet on any given afternoon. They close at 9pm on most nights, so it’s actually the perfect place to start. If the Deep Ellum blues get you down, stop by for a cup of your favorite, and see if you can complain with the locals about nothing happening. Chances are, they’ll refer you to an interesting new show in town, and you’ll find out that Dallas is just as fantastic as it used to be, and maybe even better.
